Job summary

Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a Billing Specialist for a part-time, fully remote role. You will own the billing cycle from time entry to collections, primarily using AbacusLaw, with a focus on accuracy and timely invoicing.

You will work closely with attorneys and firm administration to ensure invoices comply with client and trust accounting requirements. Prior experience with LEDES e-billing and client portals is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm.
• Hands-on AbacusLaw experience (time entry, billing, trust accounting).
• Knowledge of trust accounting and IOLTA rules.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate numerical work.
• Ability to work independently and meet monthly billing deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage full billing cycle in AbacusLaw from time/expense entry to invoicing and payment posting.
• Prepare pre-bills, track edits, finalize invoices monthly.
• Review time entries for accuracy and compliance with client guidelines.
• Process client payments, adjustments, write-downs, and AR reconciliation.
• Record IOLTA deposits/disbursements and support trust reconciliations.
• Monitor aging, contact clients about balances, and maintain billing data in AbacusLaw.
• Prepare billing, collections, and AR reports for attorneys and admins.
• Support LEDES e-billing and client portal uploads as required.
