Job summary

Aldridge Pite, LLP is seeking a remote Legal Assistant to support lawyers handling bankruptcy, foreclosure, residential real estate and mortgage matters for financial institutions. The role requires drafting pleadings, filing documents on tight deadlines and coordinating with courts and third parties.

The position emphasizes multi-state service experience, attention to detail and reliable communication with clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• At least 1 year experience working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
• Judicial foreclosure service experience highly preferred.
• Paralegal certificate a plus but not required; knowledge of multi-state service in a judicial environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process the sales and post-sale workload of the assigned states according to Aldridge Pite procedures, internal goals and client/insurer/investor requirements.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, briefs, motions and agreements.
• Electronically file pleadings within strict deadlines and manage/high volume incoming electronically filed pleadings.
• Prepare correspondence.
• Proof legal forms and documents for accuracy.
• Organize and track case files.
• Provide timely responses/updates to clients.
• Communicate with courts, title vendors and other third parties
• Monitor and handle sale/post sale related tasks for the judicial foreclosure caseload assigned
• Ensure billing is completed in a timely manner at all billable events and milestones
• Handle other projects or tasks assigned
