Job summary

ALAW is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our nationwide team. This full-time role offers a remote opportunity with location in Tampa, FL, and involves drafting documents, docket reviews, and coordinating hearings for mortgage-related matters.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of legal assistant experience, preferably in foreclosure, with strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a legal assistant or similar role.
• Foreclosure experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Must communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to assist other teams and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Request and follow up for legal documents from courts and clients.
• Draft legal documents for attorney review (motions, proposed orders, affidavits, pleadings).
• Support firm attorneys with general legal assistant tasks.
• Review dockets and public records for case progress and recordings.
• Perform quality control checks on drafted pleadings.
• Communicate with clients and provide status of accounts in multiple client systems.
• Coordinate and schedule hearings with opposing counsel and prepare documents.
• Handle original documents, recordings of originals, and/or filings with the courts.
• Cross-train and assist in other departments to ensure continuity.
