Job summary

Aldridge Pite, LLP is seeking a remote Legal Assistant to provide a wide range of legal support and administration to lawyers handling bankruptcy, foreclosure, residential real estate or mortgage law matters. The role is not exempt from overtime and requires timely, accurate work across multiple states.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of legal assistant or paralegal experience, a high school diploma, and familiarity with multi-state foreclosure processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 1 year experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
• Judicial foreclosure service experience highly preferred.
• Paralegal certificate a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents including pleadings, briefs, motions and agreements.
• Electronically file pleadings within strict deadlines and manage high volume incoming pleadings.
• Prepare correspondence.
• Proof legal forms and documents for accuracy.
• Organize and track case files.
• Provide timely responses/updates to clients.
• Communicate with courts, title vendors and other third parties.
• Monitor and handle sale/post sale related tasks for the judicial foreclosure caseload assigned.
• Ensure that billing is completed in a timely manner at all billable events and milestones.
