Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Leave and Benefits Coordinator to administer employee leave programs and manage benefits enrollment and inquiries. This remote role based out of NYC requires collaboration with HR, payroll, and union representatives to ensure compliant processing of FMLA, ADA, and other leaves.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in HR focused on leave and benefits, strong communication and organizational skills, and experience in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in HR with focus on leave and benefits administration.
• Experience working in a unionized environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer all types of employee leaves (FMLA, ADA, parental, medical, personal, union-provisions).
• Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations; respond to inquiries about health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans.
• Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local leave/benefits laws and union contracts; maintain records in HRIS.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate leave/benefit documentation; coordinate with payroll and managers.
• Provide empathetic employee support and conduct benefits orientations for new hires; collaborate with union representatives.
