Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced Leave and Accommodation professional to design, launch, and grow this capability within our Employee Relations Center of Excellence. You will guide employees and leaders through complex matters across a multijurisdictional workforce, shaping the service model, workflows, forms, and toolkits, with hands-on case work.

Collaborating with the Senior Employee Relations Manager, you will implement education, processes, and technology, including Workday

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive experience in leave administration, workplace accommodations, benefits, employee relations, HR compliance, or a related function; at least 3 years in a leave and accommodations role.
• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred; certifications in leaves and accommodations are a plus.
• Experience building, improving, or centralizing a leave, accommodation, or related HR program or service model.
• Strong knowledge of federal, California, and other state and local leave and accommodation requirements (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, PWFA, USERRA, confidentiality, return to work).
• Hands-on working style with ability to move between program development, stakeholder education, and detailed case work.

Responsibilities

• Shape the operating model: processes, roles, decision points, handoffs, measures, escalation paths.
• Design and implement workflows, forms, notices, toolkits, procedures, and reports; integrate Workday solutions.
• Lead communication, readiness, and education for processes, tools, and technology.
• Administer complex time-away and accommodation matters; assess risk and continuous improvement.
• Manage complex leave and accommodation cases from intake to return to work or closure.
