Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Learning Engineer to design and evaluate innovative learning solutions across Global Campus offerings. The role focuses on educational technologies, assessment techniques, student engagement, and evidence-based practices, collaborating across departments to prototype, test, and scale new ideas.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in instructional technology, instructional design, educational research, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in educational technology, instructional design, curriculum design, or educational psychology.
• Demonstrated experience designing and conducting pilots, prototype evaluations, applied research activities, or experiments in education with test protocols, evaluation instruments, success measures, and evidence-based recommendations.
• In-depth knowledge of LMS systems and courseware platforms; experience with Articulate and Adobe tools.
• Familiarity with online learning models, preferably competency-based programs and/or alternative learning models.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills with senior-level stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and lead diverse projects.

Responsibilities

• Design learning solutions using research in learning science and educational technology.
• Manage complex design projects with small agile teams.
• Design rigorous testing approaches for evaluating initiatives including test protocols and success criteria.
• Collaborate with prototype teams to translate designs into experiments and recommendations.
• Convert research on AI, engagement, and learning science into pilot designs and playbooks.
• Apply rigorous methods to ensure defensible, reusable results for scale decisions.
• Integrate practices from diverse learner populations to personalize solutions.
• Analyze faculty needs to support teaching and learning with the solution.
• Develop technical specs and use cases for applying technology to learning.
• Collaborate with user testing teams to evaluate learning solutions via feedback mechanisms.
• Document and support scaling efforts with stakeholders; focus on sustainability and affordability.
