Job summary

Mencap is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to provide clear, accessible advice by phone, email, Teams and in person. You will help people understand their rights, consider options, and take practical steps to improve outcomes.

You will deliver and manage casework from start to finish, supporting individuals with social care, housing, welfare benefits, mental capacity or SEND, while safeguarding and reporting concerns as needed. You will also run workshops and engage with communities.

Qualifications

• Experience of giving advice and managing complex cases (including safeguarding and form-filling).
• Knowledge of at least one key area of advice.
• Understanding safeguarding and data protection.
• Ability to communicate clearly and make good decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage casework from start to finish.
• Support people with social care, housing, welfare benefits, mental capacity, or SEND.
• Develop preventative advice packs in different formats.
• Promote safety and wellbeing by identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns.
• Deliver workshops and represent the service at events.
