Job summary

Tiffin University seeks a Learning Designer to design, develop, and continuously improve online courses. You will blend instructional design with AI-enabled tools, collaborate with SMEs, and ensure accessibility and quality across courses.

Responsibilities include building 24+ courses yearly in Moodle, mentoring remote designers, and contributing to innovative online learning strategies. A master’s degree and Moodle experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
• Experience designing online courses or instructional materials in higher education or similar environments.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems (Moodle preferred).
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application in course design and development.
• Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning, learning outcomes alignment, and Universal Design for Learning.
• Basic knowledge of HTML editing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop online courses in alignment with development queues and design standards.
• Use AI-assisted tools to support efficient course material development with SME validation.
• Build courses in Moodle following templates and design practices.
• Integrate multimedia and interactive elements to boost engagement and outcomes.
• Collaborate with SMEs to validate content for accuracy and relevance.
• Maintain accessibility and Universal Design for Learning across courses.
• Contribute to developing at least 24 courses annually across build cycles.
• Train and mentor contract or remote Learning Designers on standards and processes.
• Review course outlines and designs for accessibility and alignment with standards.
• Create internal docs, tutorials, and resources to guide course development.
• Support quality assurance for usability and accessibility across courses.
• Explore and pilot emerging instructional technologies and AI applications.
• Participate in professional development and institutional initiatives related to online learning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
