Job summary

Alvin Community College is seeking an instructional designer to collaborate with faculty in designing engaging and accessible courses across in-person, hybrid, and online formats. You will lead instructional design innovation through coaching, quality assessment, and data-informed strategies to strengthen teaching and student success.

The role involves developing course templates, supporting Distance Education, and promoting responsible use of AI while addressing accessibility and FERPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design or closely related field.
• Two years of professional experience in instructional design, course development, or related area.
• Experience consulting with faculty to design or improve online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced courses and facilitating faculty professional development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve courses using instructional design principles and measurable learning outcomes.
• Evaluate course quality using rubric-based practices and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop and deliver faculty training and instructional resources on design, assessment, engagement, and educational technology.
• Promote responsible use of generative AI and emerging instructional technologies with accessibility and integrity considerations.
• Analyze LMS data, student performance, and feedback to guide improvements.
• Develop accessible course templates and best practices for inclusive learning experiences.
• Coordinate instructional design projects with campus stakeholders and Distance Education initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
