Job summary

Tulane University is seeking an Instructional Designer to collaborate with faculty and the Learning Design & Development team to design, develop, and improve learner-centered courses across online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats.

This role applies learning experience design, uses Canvas and other educational tools, and relies on data and accessibility standards to ensure high-quality, outcomes-driven learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
• 2 years of experience supporting online or blended course development and LMS platforms (Canvas preferred).

Responsibilities

• Learning experience design and learner-centered practices.
• LMS and educational technologies (Canvas, Zoom, etc.).
• Multimedia and digital content development.
• Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and standards.
• Accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Data-informed decision making and learning analytics.
• Collaboration and project management skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent course development projects and meet term-based production timelines in a collaborative academic environment.
