Job summary
The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is seeking a Lead Web Platform Engineer to own and evolve our website platform, stabilizing WordPress today and shaping a headless CMS future. You will collaborate with Salesforce, Data, and Marketing to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable digital experiences for donors, members, and staff.
Ideal candidates have strong WordPress expertise, AWS hands-on experience, and a background in APIs, data integrations, and security.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years owning/administering a CMS/web platform in production.
- Strong WordPress experience in production environments.
- Experience with payment gateways and webhook/API integrations.
Responsibilities
- Stabilize and elevate the current WordPress environment.
- Architect the next generation platform including a headless CMS future state.
- Establish platform governance, standards, and deployment practices.
- Partner with Marketing and other teams to modernize publishing workflows.
- Translate business needs into scalable digital architecture decisions.
