Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead UI/UX Full Stack Engineer for Platform Quality and Reliability. You will be a hands-on contributor ensuring the NBA platform is production-ready, scalable, and well-tested.

You’ll own uptime, performance, observability, and error handling while collaborating with delivery pods and contractors. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in full-stack engineering with platform reliability focus, plus strong communication and leadership skills across Java, Python, Node.js,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Minimum 2+ years of project leadership experience.
Minimum 5+ years of full stack software engineering with focus on reliability or SRE.
At least 5+ years as a senior developer on large tech projects.
Hands-on experience building and owning testing infrastructure.
Strong observability practices: logging, tracing, metrics, alerting.
Experience designing error handling across distributed systems.
Ability to lead a pod and manage contractors.
Proficient in a polyglot stack: Java, Python, Node.js, TypeScript.

Responsibilities

Own platform reliability—uptime, performance, and resilience.
Actively write and ship production code as a hands-on contributor.
Build and maintain automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers.
Own logging, alerting, and monitoring; provide production visibility.
Design error handling patterns across services.
Evaluate components under load and drive scalable improvements.
Define quality gates for handing off new services to production.
Manage quality/reliability engineers within the pod.
Collaborate with other pods to surface early reliability concerns.
