Job summary

Humana is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer for Platform Quality and Reliability to ensure production readiness and scalable health tech platforms. You will be a hands-on contributor with a focus on reliability, testing, and observability across a polyglot stack including Java, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript.

The role requires 6+ years in full stack engineering with platform reliability experience, strong leadership, and collaboration with delivery pods.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
2+ years of project leadership experience.
6+ years of full stack software engineering experience with platform reliability focus.
8+ years of progressive tech experience as a senior developer in large tech projects.
Hands-on experience building testing infrastructure and automated test suites.
Strong observability practices including logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting.
Experience designing and enforcing error handling and failure management in distributed systems.
Proven ability to lead a small team or pod through delivery and manage contractor resources.
Comfortable reading and working across a polyglot stack: Java, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript.
Strong communication skills to articulate quality risk to engineering leads and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Own platform reliability across NBA platform services; identify bottlenecks and scaling constraints before incidents.
Write and ship production code alongside the team; this is a hands-on role.
Build and maintain automated testing infrastructure across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Own the platform's logging, alerting, and monitoring stack for production visibility.
Design and enforce error handling patterns across distributed services.
Evaluate platform components under load and lead scalability efforts.
Define and enforce quality gates before handing off new services or features.
Coordinate with pod leads and manage contractor resources.
