Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, within the Consulting Group, seeks a lead power systems engineer responsible for managing engagements, guiding junior engineers, and coordinating with clients and internal teams for transmission interconnection projects.

This remote/virtual role allows candidates nationwide in the United States. The position emphasizes staying current with industry technology, supporting business development, and delivering technically rigorous power system studies and analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; 15 years of relevant experience acceptable in lieu of advanced degree.
• Minimum 15 years relevant engineering experience with at least 7 years leading a team.
• Experience in load flow and contingency analysis to identify transmission constraints and transfer capability limits.
• Experience using transmission planning software for load flow, contingency, and stability analysis (PSS/E, PSLF, TARA).

Responsibilities

• Manage consulting engagements on power system studies for transmission interconnection projects.
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers.
• Participate in business development including proposals and input on scope, approach, schedule, and budget.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology and new applications.
