Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Lead Substation Project Engineer in Richmond, VA, with remote work option within the United States. You will guide multi-site substation projects from design to construction, applying IEEE/ANSI/NESC standards and leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include analyzing data, preparing procurement packages, and delivering high-quality engineering deliverables while coordinating with civil, structural, and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7–10 years’ experience in substation design for power projects.
• Proficient in electrical engineering principles and design/build processes.
• Experience with substation planning, design, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical guidance for due diligence, design, and construction of substations.
• Review and prepare GA drawings, layouts, and bus arrangements with other disciplines.
• Develop grounding, lightning protection, and protection and control system designs.
