Job summary

Worley, a global engineering services company, is seeking a senior substation design engineer in Reading, PA to deliver physical design, load flow studies, and equipment layouts for 69kV+ projects.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform QA, and interface with clients while traveling to job sites as required. A Bachelor's in electrical engineering and US PE preferred, with 8+ years in substation design, are expected. Proficiency in ETAP/CYME/SKM and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• PE in the United States is preferred.
• 8+ years of substation design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Substation physical design for new switchyards and substations.
• Prepare specifications and provide procurement support.
• Create engineering drawings and layouts for equipment and structures.
• Perform power system studies including load flow and short circuit.
• Conduct grounding, insulation coordination, and fault calculations.
• Lead proposals and input to scope documents for clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA to standards.
• Interface with project managers, drafters, and field staff.
