Job summary

Humana is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to build a platform and API layer powering CenterWell's AI-enabled products. You will own backend services, secure design, and scalable patterns across REST/GraphQL APIs, with emphasis on HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and reliability.

You will deliver end-to-end features in TypeScript and Next.js, shaping architecture and best practices for the team. Based near designated IT locations or remote, you may travel occasionally to client offices; the

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend and platform focus.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python for API development.
• Experience building scalable REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization and HIPAA considerations.
• Experience with Next.js and React for full-stack work.
• Ownership of complex backend systems end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Platform and API Architecture: design and lead core backends and APIs.
• Security and Compliance by Design: implement patterns for authentication and PHI access control.
• AI and LLM Integration Patterns: integrate AI capabilities into product APIs.
• Observability and Reliability: build logging and monitoring for scale.
• Full-Stack Feature Delivery: contribute using TypeScript and Next.js.
• Architecture Reviews and Standards: drive reviews and set engineering standards.
