Job summary

Humana’s CenterWell division seeks a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to design the platform and API layer connecting AI capabilities, data systems, and product frontends. You will set security and reliability standards across the team.

You will steer API design (REST/GraphQL), enable AI-enabled workflows, and contribute to product features using TypeScript and Next.js. Occasional travel to Humana offices may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend/platform focus.
• Proven track record building scalable REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with security patterns and PHI handling.

Responsibilities

• Platform and API Architecture: Design and lead core backend services and APIs connecting AI product stack.
• Security and Compliance by Design: Establish authentication/authorization patterns; ensure HIPAA alignment.
• AI and LLM Integration: Define patterns for AI capabilities in product APIs and tool orchestration.
• Observability and Reliability: Build logging, monitoring, and alerting for scale.
• Full-Stack Feature Delivery: Contribute using TypeScript and Next.js from server APIs to UI.
• Architecture Reviews and Standards: Lead reviews and set backend engineering standards.
