Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build a scalable platform and API layer for AI-enabled healthcare solutions. You will shape the service layer across security, data, and product frontends, focusing on robust backend systems and compliant handling of PHI.

You will contribute from API design to frontend features using TypeScript, Next.js, and React, while aligning with HIPAA requirements and high-availability practices across CenterWell clinics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with backend and platform focus.
• Proficient in TypeScript and Python for API development.
• Experience building scalable REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC and HIPAA security patterns.
• Experience with Next.js and React for full-stack work.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead development of core backend services and APIs.
• Establish authentication, authorization, and audit patterns for security.
• Define patterns for integrating AI capabilities into product APIs.
• Build logging, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure.
• Contribute to product feature delivery using TypeScript and Next.js.
• Drive architecture reviews and backend standards.
