Job summary

RES is seeking a Lead Estimator for High Voltage/BESS projects to prepare cost estimates for renewable energy substations and battery storage with a full understanding of labor, material, equipment, and productivity. You will manage a team of estimators for Bid-Build and EPC bids and coordinate with Preconstruction on engineering deliverables.

The role is remote, with national scope in the United States, requiring strong cost- and risk-management, proposal development, and client collaboration

Qualifications

• Leads multiple, complex estimate assignments concurrently with minimal supervision.
• Reviews RFP documents to determine scopes and pricing elements.
• Leads estimators for Bid-Build and EPC proposals.
• Collaborates with Preconstruction Manager for engineering deliverables.
• Receives, prioritizes, and analyzes quote responses for accuracy.
• Performs quantity take-offs for HV substations up to 500 kV.
• Quantifies resources and production rates for utility-scale projects.
• Gathers market data to estimate construction costs and soft costs.
• Identifies risks and records in Risk Register.
• Aligns estimated resources with project schedule milestones.
• Reviews estimates for multi-discipline cost accuracy.
• Prepares bid scope presentations for executive reviews.
• Assists in finalizing RFP responses and historical cost data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for renewable energy and utility substations and battery storage with a deep understanding of labor, material, equipment, and productivity costs.
• Lead a team of estimators for SOWs to deliver timely, competitive bids for Bid-Build and EPC projects.
• Coordinate with Preconstruction for engineering support and deliverables used in estimates.
• Develop indicative budgets and bid proposal documents such as SOV and ACE.
• Present scope, risks, and cost estimates for Operations and Executive reviews.
• Collaborate with Proposal Strategist to assemble final RFP responses.
