Job summary

ICF is seeking a Lead Energy Engineer to support DER project development for commercial and industrial (C&I) clients in Arizona. The role focuses on decarbonization, energy efficiency, EVSE, and electrification initiatives, coordinating with business development, contracting, and program delivery teams.

You will perform technical analyses, develop custom projects, and lead M&V planning while collaborating with customers, vendors, and stakeholders to meet budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in energy engineering focusing on custom project development and technical analysis.
• Minimum 5+ years in energy efficiency outreach and on-site work.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass MVR check.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Architectural Engineering or related discipline (or substitution of 1 year of related experience for 1 year of education).

Responsibilities

• Develop DER projects for public sector facilities in the Phoenix metro area.
• Conduct field audits to document current operations and identify energy efficiency opportunities.
• Lead scoping and development of custom decarbonization projects.
• Write and execute M&V plans to document baseline and Savings.
• Provide quality control for technical reviews and documentation.
• Forecast project activities and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
