Job summary

ICF is seeking a Lead Energy Engineer to drive DER project development in California, focusing on decarbonization, energy efficiency, EVSE, and electrification for public-sector facilities. The role emphasizes technical analysis, field assessments, and stakeholder coordination.

You'll lead scoping, cost budgets, timelines, and detailed reports, ensuring on-budget delivery while leveraging industry tools to quantify savings and energy performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of energy engineering experience with project development and analysis.
• 5+ years developing California energy efficiency projects including outreach/on-site work.
• Valid driver’s license and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Develop DER projects for public sector facilities in Southern California.
• Perform field audits to document operations, motivations, and energy opportunities.
• Lead scoping and development of custom decarbonization projects.
• Write and execute M&V plans to document baseline and savings.
• Model energy performance with industry calculators and internal tools.
• Provide QC oversight for technical documentation and reviews.
