Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Data Center Transformer Specialist to shape electrical design and optimization for hyperscale data centers. You will drive performance, standardization, and robust transformer solutions across global teams to power cloud services, AI growth, and high-availability digital ecosystems.

Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams, you will deliver calculations, simulations, and documentation for bids and execution while aligning with IEEE/IEC

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree with transformer knowledge is required.
• Experience with power transformers and data center applications is essential.
• Strong understanding of transformer design, insulation, losses and short-circuit behavior.
• Familiarity with IEEE/IEC transformer standards and global collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for advanced data center transformers and optimize performance.
• Develop calculations, simulations, and engineering documentation for bids and execution.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE/IEC standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, cooling, and system engineering teams.
• Participate in customer design reviews and present engineering rationale.
• Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Drive innovation and standardization in materials and design methods.
