Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in the United States seeks a Data Center Transformer Specialist to drive electrical design and performance optimization for hyperscale data centers.

You will collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to deliver robust transformer solutions powering cloud services and AI workloads. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, ideally with power transformers or data center applications.
• Deep knowledge of transformer design, insulation, losses, and short-circuit behavior.
• Strong understanding of IEEE/IEC transformer standards.
• Experience collaborating across global, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with Trafostar and Spectra analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for data center transformers, focusing on winding concepts, losses, insulation, and performance.
• Develop calculations, simulations, and documentation for bids and execution.
• Align designs with IEEE/IEC standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, cooling, and system engineering teams.
• Participate in customer design reviews and present engineering rationale.
• Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Drive innovation and standardization in materials and design methods.
• Provide technical input for tenders, vendor evaluations, and project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal procedures.
