Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Learning Subject Matter Expert to support editorial and assessment content remotely. The role emphasizes strong copyediting, adherence to style guides, and collaboration across Editorial, Asset Services, and Content teams.

You will leverage AI-enabled editorial tools, maintain quality controls, and participate in process improvements while meeting deadlines in a flexible, remote setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on-the-job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Strong end‑to‑end copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Familiar with major style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style) and industry standards.
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and Office 365 apps; understands HTML/XML basics.

Responsibilities

• Edit and apply grammar, spelling, style per client standards.
• Ensure consistency across assessment components and identify errors.
• Query deviations from client style guidelines when needed; may modify guidelines.
• Lead editorial efforts; coordinate with Content, Program Teams, and other departments.
• Develop training materials and provide mentorship to colleagues.
