Job summary

Raborn Media is seeking a Lead Developer for a full-time remote six-month contract-to-hire role. You’ll provide technical ownership across production apps, guiding architecture and release decisions while mentoring the team. Hands-on depth is less critical than leadership and review responsibilities.

You’ll review code, manage incidents, and ensure HIPAA/FERPA readiness in a multi-tenant setup, with scope across Next.js, React, TypeScript, Laravel/PHP, and SQL databases.

Qualifications

• Lead technical ownership of production applications and make final decisions.
• Perform thorough code reviews and mentor developers.
• Own CI/CD and releases end-to-end with stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as the team's final technical authority and handle high-risk escalations.
• Own production outcomes, including release decisions and architecture choices.
• Lead sprint planning and manage task assignment and progress.
• Establish standards, mentor engineers, and pre-release issue detection.
• Translate business goals into technical plans and explain tradeoffs.
• Review every pull request with consistent code reviews.
• Monitor HIPAA/FERPA implications and multi-tenant data-isolation risks.
• Lead incident response and communicate with clients and team.
