Job summary

Deckers Brands, home of HOKA, is seeking a Lead Copywriter to transform product innovation and athlete stories into compelling campaigns. Remote- West Coast preferred, reside in eligible states. You’ll shape narrative across channels and drive brand relevance for runners, hikers, and movers.

You’ll play a pivotal role in conceiving bold concepts, refining brand voice, and delivering engaging copy that resonates with diverse communities worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating strategic storytelling across retail brands and multiple mediums.
• 9+ years in an advertising agency or in-house creative environment.
• Passion for performance and lifestyle brands; alignment with values-driven culture.
• Expertise in print and digital marketing and advertising.
• Strong writing for short-form and long-form content.
• Confident presenter with ability to sell in ideas and concepts.
• Understanding of marketing and advertising principles.
• Interest in performance product brands (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers, art directors, and creative leaders to define narrative and copy direction for HOKA campaigns and brand initiatives.
• Brainstorm, craft, and present bold creative concepts and storytelling with measurable impact.
• Translate strategy and briefs into engaging copy for runners, hikers, and movers.
• Create stories across digital channels—campaigns, site updates, social media—reflecting HOKA’s voice.
• Craft retail, experiential narratives, and product-focused videos that connect with audiences.
• Collaborate across teams to elevate athlete and product stories celebrating performance and movement.
• Serve as a champion of the HOKA voice reflecting brand personality and values.
• Develop deep expertise in HOKA product language and messaging frameworks across channels.
• Apply understanding of running, outdoor, and lifestyle culture to ensure authentic storytelling.
