Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Principal Computational Scientist to join a fully remote research team. You will lead computational projects, mentor junior scientists, and drive cutting-edge methodologies for therapeutic discovery from anywhere.

The role emphasizes leadership in R&D, deep knowledge of computational biology, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to accelerate drug discovery.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, CS, Statistics, Physics or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in computational science or bioinformatics with leadership in R&D.
• Strong programming, statistics, ML, and HPC expertise; knowledge of biological systems and drug discovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and application of advanced computational models and algorithms for biological data analysis, including genomics, proteomics, and systems biology.
• Design and implement data analysis pipelines to identify novel drug targets, biomarkers, and therapeutic strategies.
• Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and clinicians to integrate computational findings into experimental research.
• Mentor and guide junior computational scientists and bioinformatics staff, fostering scientific excellence and innovation.
• Evaluate and implement new computational tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance research capabilities.
• Present complex findings to senior management, research teams, and external collaborators from a remote location.
