Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Lead Cloud Architect to join a team responsible for the reliability and architecture of production systems running in AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud environments. The role requires hands-on leadership, deep cloud engineering experience, and strong automation practices across ROSA/OpenShift and multi-cloud services.

Responsibilities include incident management, CI/CD automation, capacity planning, and advancing reliability engineering maturity while partnering with security

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree with substantial experience in cloud/DevOps environments.
• 7+ years hands-on cloud engineering, DevOps, or production systems engineering.
• Extensive AWS Commercial and GovCloud experience including ROSA or Kubernetes platforms.
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Ansible; strong CI/CD tooling.
• Security/compliance experience (FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53).

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, availability, performance, and health of critical infrastructure services.
• Lead complex production incidents with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Define and improve SLI/SLOs, error budgets, metrics, and alerting.
• Guide observability strategy with logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
• Oversee deployments, upgrades, patching, and capacity management.
• Drive automation and everything-as-code to improve efficiency and reduce toil.
• Mentor junior Cloud Engineers and promote reliability engineering practices.
