Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Operations & Engineering Team Lead to provide technical leadership for a team of five cloud engineers responsible for provisioning, operating, and maintaining infrastructure across the enterprise AWS environment (500+ accounts) and Azure footprint. This is a hands-on leadership role with 50–60% engineering work and 40–50% leadership, remote East Coast hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience
• US citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust
• 5+ years in cloud tech, AWS focus
• Experience operating AWS at multi-account enterprise scale
• Technical leadership of 5+ engineers
• Hands-on enterprise AWS operations & lifecycle
• Terraform IaC with CloudFormation reading ability
• Incident response in production environments

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical direction of the cloud engineering and operations team
• Manage ServiceNow requests and Jira tasks for provisioning and changes
• Plan operational support activities including patching and cost optimization
• Manage on-call and escalation model
• Identify pain points and drive monitoring/automation improvements
• Coordinate with Cloud Business Office and other teams
• Communicate status and risks to leadership
• Contribute to hiring and performance feedback
• Performs incident management and RCA analysis
