Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or billing/coding certification preferred.
• 4+ years experience in billing, accounts receivable or related finance function.
• Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and insurance processes.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel across California with a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation, review and dispersion of invoices ensuring accuracy per terms.
• Post payments, adjustments and credits; reconcile to general ledger.
• Monitor billing queues; resolve discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
• Collaborate with departments to validate billable services and charges.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and audit support as needed.
• Generate and distribute billing aging reports and performance metrics.
• Mentor and train Billing Specialists; participate in hiring and onboarding.
• Escalate complex issues to senior management and document root causes.
• Maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with HIPAA.
