Job summary

Epic Healthcare is seeking a Lead Billing Specialist to oversee invoice preparation, processing and reporting across the billing cycle. You will mentor staff, ensure accurate submissions, and drive improvements in efficiency and controls within a remote-setting role with occasional travel in California.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years in billing/AR, strong EHR and billing-system proficiency, and solid knowledge of ICD-10/CPT coding with excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years experience in billing, accounts receivable or related finance function.
• Proficiency in billing software and EHR systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 CPT coding, and insurance processes.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with high data accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel across California.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and disperse invoices with accuracy and proper approvals.
• Post payments, adjustments, and credits; reconcile to GL.
• Monitor billing queues and resolve discrepancies and inquiries.
• Collaborate with departments and payors to validate charges.
• Assist with month-end close and reporting.
• Lead onboarding and training for new Billing Specialists.
