Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Cultural Resources Lead Archaeologist and Principal Investigator to guide Pacific Northwest projects, oversee fieldwork, and mentor staff within a hybrid/remote work environment.

The role requires a Master’s in Archaeology or Anthropology, with 6+ years of experience (8+ preferred) and PI eligibility on regional permits. Travel ~20% and strong leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology required.
• Ph.D. preferred for advanced leadership roles.
• Ability to lead complex cultural resources projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects and oversee technical approach, QA/QC, and client objectives.
• Mentor staff and develop field directors and archaeologists.
• Oversee field research, data collection, and final report production to meet standards.
• Prepare and contribute to proposals and supervise staff as needed.
