SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Cultural Resources Lead-level Archaeologist - Principal Investigator for the Pacific Northwest Subregion. The role involves leading complex projects, mentoring staff, and coordinating with clients and agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality reporting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology required.
• Ability to be listed on BLM cultural resources permits in the Pacific Northwest (OR, WA, ID, AK, MT).
• Experience applying for state-issued excavation permits in the Pacific Northwest (OR, WA, ID, AK, MT).
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex archaeological projects and mentor staff.
• Experience with federal, state, and local cultural resources regulations in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Investigator or co-author on reports and research designs.
• Oversee field research, data collection, analysis, and final report production with QA/QC.
• Mentor staff in NRHP eligibility, research designs, and reporting protocols.
• Coordinate with Field Directors and multidisciplinary teams to manage projects.
• Develop proposals, oversee budgets, and maintain client relationships.
