Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Cultural Resources Lead-level Archaeologist - Principal Investigator to join the Pacific Northwest Subregion. The role involves leading projects, overseeing fieldwork, and drafting technical reports.

Two levels are available: Lead Archaeologist (6–8 years; 8 years preferred) and Senior Archaeologist (8–10 years; 10 years preferred). Hybrid/remote work is offered with rolling applications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology is required.
• Ability to be listed on BLM cultural resources permits in the Pacific Northwest.
• Experience with obtaining state excavation permits in the Pacific Northwest.
• Proven ability to lead complex archaeological projects and mentor staff.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local cultural resources regulations in the Pacific Northwest.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and QA/QC experience.
• PI-level completion of at least one testing or data recovery excavation.
• Ability to travel about 20%.
