Humana Inc. in the United States seeks a Lead Decision Intelligence Engineer to own production‑grade decision intelligence across the NBA platform, translating objectives into structured models and guiding AI deployment.

You will lead a small team, design agentic workflows with LangGraph, LangChain, and Azure OpenAI, and collaborate with product, decision science, and engineering to improve member engagement and governance of AI systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
6+ years of software engineering, machine learning engineering, AI engineering, or decision intelligence experience.
Hands-on experience building agentic applications using LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar orchestration frameworks.

Responsibilities

Decision intelligence modeling — Analyze and formally model business decision processes.
Decision decomposition — Break complex processes into decision graphs and optimization opportunities.
Optimization strategy — Determine where rules, predictive models, reinforcement learning, and agentic systems add value.
Agentic workflow delivery — Design and implement production agent workflows with multi-agent collaboration.
Knowledge and retrieval systems — Design retrieval-augmented architectures for reliable decision context.
Reinforcement learning integration — Operationalize RL and decision optimization models within workflows.
Team leadership — Lead and mentor AI engineers and set engineering standards.
