Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead Decision Intelligence Engineer to apply decision intelligence and agentic AI across the NBA platform.

You will model business decisions, design agentic workflows, and lead a small engineering team to deliver production AI capabilities that drive member engagement and governance. You will work closely with product, decision science, data science, and engineering teams, integrating Azure OpenAI, LangGraph, LangChain, and enterprise AI tools into scalable solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
6+ years of software engineering, ML engineering, AI engineering, or decision intelligence experience, including 1–2 years in technical leadership.
Strong Python engineering experience building and operating production AI systems.
Hands-on experience building agentic applications using LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar orchestration frameworks.
Experience integrating Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Vertex AI, Anthropic, OpenAI, or comparable enterprise AI platforms.
Strong understanding of Decision Intelligence concepts, including decision modeling, optimization, decision automation, objectives, constraints, and outcome measurement.

Responsibilities

Decision intelligence modeling and formalizing business decision processes to guide member engagement.
Decision decomposition into graphs, services, hierarchies, and optimization opportunities.
Determine where rules, models, RL, or agentic systems add highest value and impact.
Design and deliver production agent workflows using LangGraph and LangChain with memory, planning and human-in-the-loop patterns.
Collaborate with product, decision science, data science, and engineering to productionize AI capabilities.
Build evaluation frameworks to measure quality, adoption, and business outcomes.
