Job summary

EMC seeks a Large Accounts Underwriting Associate to support the underwriting of complex commercial accounts, analyze risks, and deliver exceptional service to agents and brokers. You will work with underwriters and business partners to position EMC's Large Accounts portfolio for long-term success.

Essential duties include renewal preparation, risk evaluation, submissions handling, and pricing updates, with a focus on profitability and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• One year of insurance industry experience.
• Experience supporting large commercial accounts, including complex risk exposures.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead renewal preparation for an assigned portfolio and support pricing objectives.
• Evaluate account risk profiles and renewal eligibility per underwriting guidelines.
• Identify items outside authority and prepare analysis to support decisions.
• Validate submission quality by reviewing classifications and loss runs; coordinate rating activities.
• Receive, triage, and prepare new submissions for underwriter evaluation.
• Apply underwriting-driven pricing updates and assemble proposals for review.
• Build and maintain relationships with agents and brokers to support retention and growth.
• Serve as primary contact for agent inquiries and resolve endorsements, renewals, and policy issues.
• Review endorsements, reinstatements, and cancellations within authority.
• Assess policy changes by analyzing coverage, claims history, and loss experience.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver timely solutions for agents and insureds.
