Job summary

AEI Consultants is seeking a capable Field Technician to join our Land Surveying and Mapping division. The role focuses on gathering field data with robotic equipment and performing ALTA surveys to support property boundary determinations.

The candidate will operate survey instruments across various projects, calculate legal descriptions, and ensure accurate measurements. Travel within the United States is anticipated for project assignments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant field surveying experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD preferred.
• Willingness to travel within the United States (anticipated travel 1–2 weeks per trip).
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and surveying measurements and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

• Gather field survey data using GRS/Robotic equipment.
• Perform ALTA Surveys.
• Calculate and determine legal descriptions of property boundaries.
• Operate survey instruments for projects (topographic, ALTA, boundary, construction).
• Locate and determine land by measuring elevations, lines, angles, areas, and contours.
