Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Land Survey Technician to assist licensed surveyors in measuring and mapping land boundaries, features, and structures. The ideal candidate will work in both field and office environments, supporting a variety of projects including construction, land development, and infrastructure planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting field surveys using GPS, total stations, levels, and other surveying instruments
  • Deed Research and plotting
  • Collect and record accurate field data and measurements
  • Set up and maintain surveying equipment during field operations
  • Interpret field data and assist in preparing topographic and boundary maps
  • Draft survey drawings using CAD and other mapping software
  • Maintain clear and accurate field notes, sketches, and records
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents such as plats, legal descriptions, and boundary reports
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in surveying, geomatics, or related field (preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience in land surveying (internship or fieldwork accepted)
  • Proficiency with surveying tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, Leica)
  • Strong math and spatial awareness skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with GIS systems
  • Knowledge of local land use and zoning regulations
  • Experience with drones or LiDAR systems (optional)
Working Conditions

  • Ability to carry equipment and stand/walk for long periods
