Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions LLC invites you to join our remote interpreter network as a Kapelle-English Phone Interpreter. This is an independent contractor role that lets you work from home within the United States.

You will handle on-demand calls across healthcare, government, finance, and more, delivering accurate, culturally aware interpretation while maintaining neutrality and professionalism. We provide training and ongoing support; Advancement opportunities exist within an ASTM/ISO

Qualifications

• Bilingual Kapelle-English proficiency with cultural awareness.
• Strong listening, retention, and note-taking abilities.
• Ability to stay neutral and focused on calls, including sensitive topics.
• Willingness to work remote from the United States.
• 18+ and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Reading and writing in the required languages is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings per interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions, especially in emergency or high-volume calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to ensure proper service and protect LEP.
• Understand terminology across Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Some calls may be highly emotional or long; manage accordingly.
