LanguageLine Solutions in the United States is hiring a Kham-English phone interpreter. This remote, work-from-home role is an independent contractor position and does not include employee benefits.

You will handle on-demand calls across healthcare, government, insurance and more, delivering accurate interpretation while maintaining confidentiality and cultural sensitivity. Qualified candidates are fluent in Kham and English, with 18+ years old, legal work authorization in the U.S., and ability

Formación

• Fluency in Kham and English with cultural dynamics.
• Ability to assess regional and accent differences to communicate with LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills for high accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached, remain neutral on sensitive topics.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Applicants must have work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in future.
• Background checks may be required post-offer.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation professionally.
• Render correct concepts according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions, especially in emergencies such as 911 calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to ensure expectations are met with LEP.
• Understand protocol for industries including Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment.
• Some calls may be highly emotional or stressful; may require extended calls without breaks.
