LanguageLine Solutions LLC is seeking a Work at Home Bilingual Kanjobal - English Phone Interpreter. This independent contractor role handles on-demand interpretation across multiple industries from a home office in the United States.

The position requires fluency in Kanjobal and English, cultural competency, excellent listening and note-taking, and the ability to remain neutral and professional on all calls, including emergencies. Training and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Kanjobal and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics.
• Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences to communicate with LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention and note‑taking skills to maintain accuracy during interpretation.
• Maintain neutrality, objectivity and professionalism on calls including sensitive topics.
• Must be at least 18 and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsabilités

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render correct concepts according to interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation.
• Maintain professional demeanor during sessions at all times.
• Remain calm during sessions, including emergency situations (e.g., 911 calls).
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations with LEP.
• Understand protocol for industries like Medical, Insurance, Finance, Law.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Some calls may be emotional or stressful; may require extended calls or high volume.
