LanguageLine Solutions LLC is hiring a Work at Home Kapelle Interpreter. This independent contractor role focuses on on-demand interpretation for the English/Kapelle pair across multiple industries, including healthcare and government.

You will work from a quiet home office and must maintain neutrality and confidentiality. The position emphasizes quick, accurate interpretation with cultural sensitivity, while avoiding written translation and ensuring client guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Kapelle and English with cultural competency.
• Ability to evaluate regional and accent differences for LEP communication.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking to ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions in a friendly, professional way.
• Render correct concepts per established interpretation protocol; avoid omissions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions.
• Stay calm in emotional or emergency calls, including 911 situations.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to ensure LEP client expectations are met.
• Understand protocol for Medical, Insurance, Finance, Law sectors.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Handle calls that may be long or emotionally demanding.
