Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking an Academic Designer focused on Science for K-5 to plan and develop instructional materials for print and digital products used by teachers and students. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, science, or science education.
• 5+ years in educational publishing or editorial experience.
• Extensive knowledge of NGSS.
• Ability to read, interpret, and unpack NGSS standards for specific grade bands.
• Demonstrated success creating assessments that measure student progress across all three dimensions.
• Experience using QA rubrics like EQuIP and EdReports to assess HQIM.
• Experience working with digital curriculum development and digital educational products.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
• Experience with Jira to manage sprint backlogs (desirable).
• Classroom teaching experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop elementary science instructional materials for print and/or digital formats.
• Produce accurate, high-quality instructional materials meeting curriculum standards and appropriate reading levels.
• Follow approved workflows at all stages and meet intermediate and final schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure market requirements and product goals are met.
• Demonstrate strong time management and adaptability in an Agile work environment.
