Job summary

McGraw Hill, a leading provider of digital and print educational resources, seeks an Academic Designer specializing in K-5 Science to plan and develop instructional materials for print and digital products. You will create textbooks, interactive activities, assessments, and teacher lesson plans for students and teachers nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, science, or science education.
• 5+ years of experience in educational publishing and/or significant editorial experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
• Ability to read, interpret, and unpack NGSS for grade bands and to group multiple performance expectations.
• Experience creating assessments that measure student progress across three dimensions.
• Experience using HQIM assessment rubrics (EQuIP/EdReports).
• Experience with digital curriculum development and digital educational products.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing elementary science instructional materials for print and/or digital formats.
• Produce accurate, high-quality instructional content meeting curriculum standards and reading level.
• Follow approved workflows and meet schedule dates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with market requirements and product goals.
• Demonstrate strong time management and adaptability in an agile environment.
