Job summary

McGraw Hill, a leader in digital and print educational resources, seeks an Academic Designer for K-5 science to plan and develop instructional materials for print and digital products. You will create textbooks, interactive activities, assessments, and teacher lesson plans, working remotely within the United States.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align with NGSS, design assessments across multiple dimensions, and manage timelines in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in education or science.
• 5+ years in educational publishing or significant editorial experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the NGSS.
• Ability to read, interpret NGSS and group performance expectations.
• Experience creating assessments that measure progress across three dimensions.
• Experience using HQIM assessment rubrics (EQuIP/EdReports) and digital curriculums.
• Strong organization, meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects.
• Jira experience is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing elementary science instructional materials for print/digital formats.
• Produce accurate, high‑quality materials meeting curriculum standards and reading level.
• Follow approved workflows and meet schedule dates.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on market requirements and goals.
• Demonstrate strong time management and adaptability in Agile environments.
