Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Junior Software Engineer – Security Release Engineering for a fully remote role, supporting a federal healthcare modernization project. You will develop automation, APIs, and secure delivery tooling to strengthen software supply chain security and reduce manual release tasks.

You will collaborate across DevSecOps, GitOps, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), participate in CI/CD, and help maintain secure release processes while working from anywhere in the continental US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on development or automation using JavaScript and Python.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and IaC with Terraform.
• Understanding of Secure SDLC, DevSecOps, GitOps, and secure software delivery.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for build/deploy/security pipelines.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build automation and software solutions that streamline security and release processes.
• Develop integrations across platforms, source control, CI/CD, and security tools.
• Create APIs, scripts, and automation services to reduce manual work and compliance efforts.
• Implement GitOps workflows for deployments in Kubernetes environments.
• Support secure software delivery, automated compliance validation, and release readiness.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues with cross-functional teams.
• Take on additional tasks to support project success.
