Job summary

GuidePoint Security is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Data Platform Engineer to support Exiger platform implementation in a federal cybersecurity environment. You will onboard enterprise data sources, configure integrations, and maintain analytics for cyber operations alongside senior engineers.

The role offers remote work within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Public Trust clearance eligibility required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications, cybersecurity platforms, or cloud environments.
• Basic Linux administration (RHEL or equivalent).
• Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and data integration concepts.
• Basic understanding of AWS or other cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist with configuring and administering the Extiger platform.
• Onboard enterprise data sources and support data governance initiatives.
• Develop basic data transformation, normalization, and enrichment workflows.
• Assist with APIs, connectors, and automation for data ingestion.
• Maintain metadata, data catalogs, and governance documentation.
• Support dashboards, reports, and visualizations for cybersecurity analysts.
• Perform system monitoring and issue resolution under senior guidance.
• Assist Linux system administration and application deployments.
• Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.
• Produce technical documentation and SOPs.
• Participate in testing, validation, and QA for new platform capabilities.
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity technologies and AI capabilities.
